| A Research into the ecological cycle and changes
in nature modeled on the Kii Peninsula. 1. Establishment of systems to measure gasses contributing to global warming, the creation of a database for the Kii Peninsula, as well as comparative research on tropical forests. 2. Using satellite data to investigate the thermal energy balance of the Kii Peninsula as well as for international comparison. 3. Research into changes in the Mt. Kasuga primary forest and in ground covering in the outskirts of Nara City. 4. Investigation of the mutual relationships of water, forests, and wildlife in the Kii Peninsula. 5. The revamping of the harmful-UV ray monitoring network, and the creation and public release of its database. 6. Research and international comparison studies into environmental changes in the Nara region and the Kii Peninsula 7. Studies of the effects of water-borne matter and endocrine-disrupting chemicals in the Saho and Yamato rivers. |
